Defeated Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore is seeking to delay certification of his loss earlier this month, and claimed in a lawsuit Wednesday evening that there was voter fraud.

Moore said in a news release that three experts had found that fraud “improperly altered the outcome of the election” that he lost by more than 20,000 votes after a campaign where he was accused of molesting, sexually assaulting and pursuing teenage girls.

One named “expert” who questioned the results, due to be certified on Thursday, was Richard Charmin. A website run under the same name specializes in writing about election fraud and JFK conspiracy theories.

In a blog post from earlier this month he also cites the “the FACT that the recorded vote is ALWAYS fraudulent” and claims that President Trump won the 2016 popular vote, which he lost be nearly 3 million.

While Charmin calling the Alabama victory of Democrat Doug Jones fraudulent is therefore not surprising, Moore’s camp said that a thorough investigation should be launched.

Most analysts chalk up Jones’s win to the support and turnout of black voters, while the expected boost for the Republican was eroded by voters who could not stomach casting their ballot for him and chose write-in candidates.

Moore had refused to concede after election night and said that military and provisional ballots needed to be counted, though the Alabama Secretary of State has already said that those roughly 5,000 votes are not enough to close the gap.

The former judge’s early morning missive also included an affidavit that he had taken a polygraph test about the allegations against him, which included the molestation of a 14-year-old and sexual assault of a 16-year-old in the late 1970s and early 1980s, when he was in his 30s.

Moore said that the results show “that I did not know, nor had I ever had any sexual conduct with any of these individuals.”

He said that the results could be re-tested if his accusers also submit to polygraph tests.
